The purpose of the Congregation and Community Life Committee is to care for and support the members of the congregation and to organize Outreach activities to support people in need in the wider community by:
Planning/coordinating events and activities that augment and enhance fellowship within the Westminster Faith Family (e.g., potluck lunches, after church coffee time, Travelling Dinner, auctions, tourtière making and selling, Stocking Stuffer and Bake Sale , Travelogues, special events).
Supporting the congregation through the Prayer Shawl Ministry, Christmas Gift Bags, hosting funeral/memorial service receptions, pastoral care visits.
Providing outreach that focuses on food security and other basic needs (e.g. RFDA volunteers make sandwiches at the RFDA bi-weekly, monthly coffee time donations to RFDA and collecting donations of food and money for RFDA, collecting ongoing donations of non-food items for Grace Place, Sock it to Steven Sunday to gather socks to distribute to local schools and organizations, Supporting the Community Clothing Assistance’s Under the Cover Project by collecting donations of children’s socks and underwear during Advent).
New committee members are always very welcome. We meet on a regular basis.
